Dr. Mahmoud Wagih

Senior Research Fellow |
UK IC Research Fellow
(PI)

Mahmoud completed his PhD in ECS in 28 months, in April'21, on RF to mmWave Rectenna Design, the work was published extensively and received several awards including a "Best in Faculty" PhD Award for "establishing a track record in a new field of research through an exceptional number of high-quality publications". He then led a Flexible Innovation Fund (FIF) project on RF-enabled sensing, starting the RF sensing theme building upon the RF energy harvesing and wearable antennas expertise. He was awarded a prestigious UK IC Research Fellowship (RAEng | GO-Science) on the topic of RF-enabled multi-source energy harvesting.

Dr. Junjie Shi

Research Fellow

"I received the B.Sc. degree from the Nanjing Institute of Technology, China in 2008, and from the University of Southampton, an MSc degree in Microelectromechanical systems in 2012 and a PhD in 2017. I was appointed, in the same year, as a Research Fellow in the Department of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS). My research interest covers a board range of wearable including but not limited to sensors, actuators, memory, and energy harvesting." Dr. Shi has got many publications on sensors, energy harvesting, and RFID sensors.

Prof. Steve Beeby

RAEng Chair in Emerging Technologies
(Research Advisor)

Prof. Beeby leads the UK’s E-Textiles Network and is Chair of the International Steering Committee for the PowerMEMS conference series. His leading role in e-textiles research and his support for the community has been recognised through the award of a highly prestigious RAEng Chair in Emerging Technologies. He is currently PI/Southampton lead on 4 UK/EU funded research projects, Co-I on 3 other projects and he has secured over £14M in research funding as PI or Southampton lead. He has co-authored/edited five books and has published over 140 journal papers/letters, 190 refereed conference papers, 4 patents and given 27 plenary, keynote or invited talks. He has an h-Index of 52 with >16600 citations.
